The Process
From Territory Check to Match Reveal
This tool is Step 0 — a preview of what’s possible. Here’s the full 5-step process that turns a ZIP code search into your franchise match.
Confidentiality Agreement (NDA)
Protect your information
Before we share detailed territory data, investment specifics, or franchisor contacts, you sign a simple NDA. This protects both you and the brands — and it’s the industry standard for serious franchise exploration.
Franchise Fit Assessment
Discover what fits your life
A 10-minute assessment covering your goals, lifestyle, investment range, industry preferences, and management style. This is what separates a random list from a real match — Brian uses this to filter the entire IFPG catalog down to brands built for you.
Funding Pre-Qualification
Unlocked after Step 02Know your buying power
Understanding your funding options before you fall in love with a brand is critical. Brian works with preferred lenders (SBA, ROBS, conventional) to pre-qualify you — so you know exactly what you can invest before the match reveal.
Territory Confirmation
Unlocked after Step 03Verify real availability
This tool gives you a preview. The real confirmation happens here — Brian contacts each IFPG brand directly to verify that your specific territory is available, not just the metro area. No surprises at the finish line.
Your Match Reveal
Unlocked after Step 04Your shortlist, built for you
Brian presents your personalized franchise shortlist — typically 3 to 5 brands — with full territory confirmation, FBR scores, failure rates, investment breakdowns, and a direct introduction to the franchisors. This is where the real conversation begins.
How We Filter the Universe of Franchises
There are over 4,000 franchise brands in the US. Here’s the three-layer filter that gets you to the ones worth your time.
Why IFPG Only?
The International Franchise Professionals Group (IFPG) is the largest franchise consultant network in the world. IFPG membership means a brand has agreed to work ethically with consultants and has been vetted for quality. Every brand in this tool is an active IFPG member — no random directory listings.
Why FBR 80+ Only?
Franchise Business Review (FBR) surveys actual franchisees — not corporate marketing teams — on satisfaction, support, and financial performance. An FBR score of 80 or higher means the people already running this business are happy they bought it. That's the filter that matters most.
What Does Failure Rate Mean?
The 5-year failure rate shown for each brand is sourced from FDD (Franchise Disclosure Document) filings — the legal document every franchisor must provide. It represents the percentage of units that closed within 5 years. Lower is better. This data helps you compare risk across categories before you invest a dollar.
How Territory Works
Territory status shown here is based on IFPG network data and ZIP-code metro mapping. "Open" means the brand is actively seeking franchisees in that metro. "Limited" means some territories remain but are filling. Only a direct franchisor conversation — which Brian facilitates — can confirm your exact territory is available.
Data Transparency
Where This Data Comes From
Every number on this page is sourced from a named, verifiable authority — not estimates, not marketing copy. Here’s exactly what we use and why it matters.
What it is
Every brand shown is an active IFPG member. IFPG is the largest franchise consultant network in the U.S., with over 1,500 member brands. Membership requires brands to meet ethical and operational standards and to work transparently with certified consultants.
Why it matters
Eliminates unvetted, low-quality, or predatory franchise listings from your results.
What it is
FBR surveys actual franchisees — not corporate teams — on satisfaction, support quality, training, and financial performance. Only brands scoring 80 or higher on FBR’s 100-point scale are included here.
Why it matters
An FBR 80+ score means the people already running this business are satisfied. That’s the most honest signal available.
What it is
The FDD is a legal document every franchisor must provide under FTC Rule 436. Item 20 of the FDD discloses the number of outlets opened, closed, transferred, or terminated over the prior 3 years. The 5-year failure rates shown are derived from this publicly filed data.
Why it matters
This is the only legally required, auditable source of franchise closure data in the U.S. No other source is more authoritative.

Territory Status: Territory availability shown in this tool is based on IFPG network data and ZIP-code metro mapping as of the date of your search. It is a preliminary indicator only — not a confirmed reservation, not a guarantee of availability, and not a binding representation by any franchisor. Actual territory availability must be verified directly with each franchisor through a formal discovery process. Territories can change without notice.
Failure Rate Data: The 5-year failure rates displayed are derived from Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) filings, which franchisors are required to provide under FTC Rule 436. These figures represent the percentage of franchise units that closed, transferred, or were terminated within a 5-year period as reported in the most recent available FDD. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Individual franchise outcomes vary significantly based on location, operator experience, market conditions, capital, and other factors.
FBR Scores: Franchise Business Review (FBR) scores are based on franchisee satisfaction surveys conducted by FBR, an independent research firm. Scores reflect franchisee-reported satisfaction at the time of the survey and may not reflect current conditions. Brian Braggs Consulting has no affiliation with FBR and does not influence FBR scoring.
Investment Ranges: Investment ranges shown are estimates based on Item 7 of each brand’s FDD (Estimated Initial Investment). Actual costs vary by territory, real estate, build-out, working capital, and other factors. These figures should not be relied upon for financial planning without reviewing the current FDD and consulting a qualified financial advisor.
No Offer or Solicitation: Nothing on this page constitutes an offer to sell a franchise. Franchise offerings are made only by Franchise Disclosure Document. Brian Braggs Consulting is an independent franchise consultant and is not a licensed securities broker, financial advisor, or attorney. Consult qualified legal and financial professionals before making any investment decision.
Compensation Disclosure: Brian Braggs Consulting is compensated by franchisors through a referral fee only if a client completes a franchise purchase. There is no cost to the prospective franchisee for Brian’s consulting services.
