The Experience Behind the Advice
Brian Braggs is a healthcare entrepreneur, franchise consultant, and US Army Veteran based in Peoria, Illinois. His career is defined by one consistent thread: he builds things that work, and then he helps others do the same.
His military service gave him the foundation — discipline, accountability, and the ability to lead under pressure. When he transitioned into healthcare, he brought that same rigor to an industry that desperately needed it. He didn't enter as a consultant. He entered as an operator, building organizations from the ground up and learning every lesson the hard way.
Over more than two decades, Brian has owned and operated businesses across multiple healthcare verticals — from home-based care to therapy services. He has managed caregivers and clinicians, built payroll and HR infrastructure, navigated state licensing and regulatory compliance, and grown organizations to the point of earning national recognition for quality.
Today, Brian channels that experience into consulting. He works with healthcare operators, executives, and franchise entrepreneurs who need more than advice — they need someone who has actually done the work.
Career Journey
Built From the Ground Up
Five chapters. Two businesses. One consistent thread.
US ARMY
Service Before Self
Brian's foundation was built in uniform. The Army instilled discipline, systems thinking, and leadership under pressure that would define every business he built afterward.
"Great organizations are built on clear systems, disciplined execution, and people who hold each other accountable."
EARLY CAREER
Into the Trenches
After service, Brian entered healthcare and recognized that operators who cared deeply about patients lacked the business infrastructure to sustain their organizations. He set out to change that — starting with his own.
2007 – 2024
Shining Star Therapy
Founded with no clients, no employees, no roadmap. Built into a multi-county therapy operation across 17 Illinois counties, serving thousands of clients over 17 years.
2021 – 2026
Right at Home Peoria
Purchased using the VetFran 25% franchise fee discount — the same program Brian now helps other veterans navigate. Built to $1M+ revenue, earned a national VA contract, and won back-to-back Best of Home Care awards for client and caregiver satisfaction.
PRESENT
IFPG Franchise Consultant
Recognized for his operational track record, Brian now guides entrepreneurs through franchise evaluation, territory selection, launch planning, and the early challenges that determine whether a franchise thrives.
Every engagement draws on 20+ years of doing the work — not just advising on it.

Principles That Drive Results
Operator First
Brian has run the businesses he advises on. He doesn't offer theory — he offers the hard-won knowledge of someone who has built payroll systems, managed caregivers, navigated audits, and grown revenue in the real world.
Systems Thinking
From the Army to the boardroom, Brian approaches every challenge by building systems that scale. He helps organizations move from reactive firefighting to proactive, process-driven operations.
People-Centered
Healthcare is a people business. Brian's approach to workforce strategy, caregiver retention, and organizational culture reflects a deep belief that the quality of your team determines the quality of your outcomes.
Accountability
Military service taught Brian that accountability isn't optional. He brings that same standard to every engagement — clear goals, honest assessments, and measurable results.
